She is one of only four Miss Nicaragua titleholders to be born outside the country.
Barberena graduated in Business Administration and now works as an Accounting Manager. However, as stated on her Instagram account, she prefers to call herself a professional animal lover.

Xiomara Blandino

Xiomara Blandino was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2007 and participated in the Miss Universe 2007 pageant, where she entered the semifinal and placed 10th.
Since then, Blandino has become one of the busiest Nicaragua models with a fruitful career in Central America and the Caribbean.
For the past 11 years, not only did she model for big brand names and fashion companies, but she also became a director of Miss Teen Nicaragua.
Nastassja Bolívar
Nastassja is probably the most controversial and talked-about Nicaraguan titleholder.
She first rose to fame after winning the beauty reality show Nuestra Belleza Latina in 2011. Only two years later, she was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2013, earning the right to represent her country at the prestigious Miss Universe 2013 pageant.
Her stunning features, vibrant personality, and unique costumes made her one of the show’s stars.
Eventually, she finished in the top 16 and was awarded 5000 USD for winning Best National Costume.
After the pageant, Nastassja entered a prolonged dispute with the franchise director, Karen Celebertti, and eventually lost the crown due to insubordination.

The Nicaraguan community following the National pageant publicly disapproved of Farah’s victory. As a Mexican-born, she wasn’t expected to win.
Eslaquit is also a proud gold-medal winner in Fitness at the 2017 Central American Games.
Adriana Paniagua
Paniagua is probably among the Nicaragua models and beauty queens with multiple pageant victories. She holds the 2011 Miss Teen Nicaragua and Miss Teen International crowns, as well as Miss Mundo Nicaragua and Miss Nicaragua 2018.
Almost a decade ago, Adriana withdrew from the Miss World 2013 pageant for personal reasons. Still, she went on to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2018, making fast progress in her international career.

Marina Jacoby
This Nicaraguan siren is a proud Miss Nicaragua 2016 beauty pageant title holder. In the same period, Jacoby also showed up at the Miss Universe 2016
But this was far from her first runway walk and international experience. At only 15, Marina ranked 1st runner up at Mis Teen Nicaragua in 2011 and represented her homeland at Miss Teenager Universe 2011, placing 5th.

Sheynnis Palacios
This Managua-born gazelle entered the world of pageantry at only 15, winning Miss Teen Nicaragua. Between now and then, she won and placed high on several beauty pageants, including Miss Teen Universe 2017 (Top 10), Miss World Nicaragua 2020 (Winner), and Miss World 2021 (Top 40).
Palacios manages to balance her stellar modeling career and education. She has just graduated from Universita Centroamericana, where she pursued a law and mass communication degree.

Berenice Quezada
Quezada is another on the not-so-short list of controversial Nicaraguan models and beauty queens.
Winning the national Miss Nicaragua 2017 contest and moving forward to represent her motherland at Miss Universe 2017, but without much success.
Berenice was an outspoken protest-goer in Nicaragua between 2018-2021. As a running mate of Oscar Sobalvarro and vice-president hopeful, Quezada was accused of “terrorism” for criticizing the lack of freedom in her homeland.
On August 3rd, 2021, she was placed under house arrest and stripped from her right to run for vice-president of Nicaragua.
Today she is the founder and director of the “Una Sonrisa” foundation, working to deliver supplies to schools and households in rural areas of Nicaragua.
